Description: The PersonBrain Model™ is a powerful, trauma informed care training that is strengths-based and provides essential positive behavior support skills within a NeuroTransactional Model. The NeuroTransactional care approach is grounded in research and incorporates the best of practical brain-based concepts, trauma-informed theories, relational practices, ecological psychology and culturally-responsive interventions to help transform challenging behaviors. Given its multi-theoretical design, The PersonBrain Model™ is compatible with a wide variety of training's your organization might already incorporate, helping to blend general practice into one, coherent model.
This training is designed for helping professionals who may have little to no background in a specialized skill or content area. The learner can become acquainted with the theoretical underpinnings, principles, methods, and perspectives of a content area. Although it can be used as a foundation for more advanced learning, a program may simply focus on breadth, enrichment or general knowledge.
Objectives:
Identify definitions and types of trauma
Identify critical aspects of how trauma and chaos shape brain and behavioral development.
Explain the basic neurological and relational connections between behavior and brain function
Apply general concepts of neuroplasticity and its relationship to hope and behavioral change
Identify the importance of people as therapeutic helpers in facilitating positive growth with individuals
Cost: Currently Free to the Springfield Community!!! Method of Instruction: In person OR Virtual: 12 hours - usually in two 6 hour sections - this can be individualized to different sections of time as needed
Description: Trauma changes the way our brains function. In this session you will learn how to apply brain science when working with individuals who have experienced trauma, and why it is critical we all begin to operate from a trauma-informed perspective.
Objectives:
Recognize the prevalence of trauma
Identify the signs and symptoms of trauma as they relate to neuroscience
Begin to understand how to respond in a trauma-informed way
Cost: $200 Method of Instruction: 1 hour session: In person OR virtual
Description: How adults respond to challenging behaviors determines the likelihood the challenging behavior will continue. In this session, you will learn how adults can utilize brain science to avoid challenging behaviors in the future, while keeping from escalating youth.
Objectives:
Respond to challenging behaviors in a trauma informed way
Resist re-traumatization by utilizing prevention strategies
Understand the difference between logical and natural consequences
Cost: $200 Method of Instruction: 1 hour session: In person OR virtual
Description: QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. Each year thousands of Americans, like you, are saying "Yes" to saving the life of a friend, colleague, sibling, or neighbor. QPR can be learned in our Gatekeeper course in as little as one hour.
Objectives:
Recognize the warning signs of suicide
Know how to offer hope
Know how to get help and save a life

Trauma Informed Care (Introductory, Intermediate, Advanced)
Description: The trauma informed care (TIC) training is intended to inform participants on the most current evidence-based understanding of trauma as it pertains to human development and interpersonal neurobiology. Additionally, the TIC training is intended to help participants understand the implications of trauma as it is relevant to the therapeutic alliance and a client’ s process in and throughout treatment. More than just psychoeducation on the impact of trauma, the TIC training focuses on shaping every interaction into a trauma informed, nervous system focused healing experience.
Objectives:
Gain an introductory yet thorough understanding of the nervous system and brain.
Learn about trauma and the impact that it has on the brain, nervous system, and inevitably human behavior.
Learn about and experience the benefits of therapeutic attunement in the treatment of trauma.
Integrate the information learned into your work as a helper and be able to treat every interaction from a trauma informed care approach.
Cost: $450 per participant (individual rate) $350 per participant (group of 10+ rate) Method of Instruction: 18 hours of video paired with 6 hours of consultation.
